Workshops
The Gardening Drawing Club: Delightful Herb Workshop
The Apple House, Sergehill Lane, Bedmond, Hertfordshire WD5 0RZ
Wednesday 12 August 2026, 1:30pm-4:30pm

This event will soon be available to book via the Gardening Drawing Club's Website.

Join The Gardening Drawing Club for this (free) workshop to learn how to divide and sow herbs successfully in the welcoming, lush environment of The Serge Hill Project.

Wishing to address and soothe all senses, we will begin our time together by drinking two organic herbal infusions and discussing their flavours and our relationship to them. In the second part of this workshop, the participants will be invited to create drawings and paintings on paper inspired by the herbs and the tactical planting experience.

Herbs are herbaceous plants (annual or perennial) with savoury or aromatic properties, sometimes both. Herbs have been used for centuries across cultures and continents for their aromatic, culinary, medicinal and spiritual properties.

Suitable for adults and children aged ten and above. We will employ veganic soil with British-grown organic seeds. Art materials provided in this workshop include plant-based pigment watercolours. Artist-gardener Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck will facilitate this workshop
