
Join us for this extra special summer’s evening talk and garden opening hosted by The Serge Hill Project for Gardening, Creativity and Health to explore Tom and Sue Stuart-Smith’s Barn Garden and The Plant Library of over 2000 varieties of plants.
Enjoy refreshments as well as a talk and demonstration on money-saving gardening from Sunday Times Bestselling author and Instagram star, Anya Lautenbach (@anya_thegarden_fairy).
This event is part of the Abbots Langley Festival, a four-week programme of entertainment, exhibitions, demonstrations, competitions, and events for the local community and those who wish support it.
All profits go to fund the work of the Serge Hill Project.

About Anya Lautenbach
Anya Lautenbach is a self-taught gardener with a passion for the environment and championing neurodiversity. She grew up in Poland, and now lives in Buckinghamshire, UK, where her garden has blossomed through years of propagation and clever gardening tricks. Inspired to share her knowledge on social media as Anya the Garden Fairy, Anya proves that gardening does not need to be expensive and that anyone can transform their garden. Anya also uses her platform to raise awareness about the positive influence horticulture can have on mental health. She proves that gardening does not need to be expensive - anyone can transform their garden and create something amazing. Anya's first book was published by DK in February 2024 and became a Sunday Time Bestseller.
Visitor Information
The gardens are open from 5:30pm-8pm. It usually takes around two hours to walk around The Barn Garden and The Plant Library. Refreshments will be available.
Parking onsite is limited so please car-share or please come by public transport wherever possible. Information on getting to us will be send out via an attendee email prior to the event or take a look at our visit us page.
Please note this is a no smoking and no vaping site. We do not allow dogs on site unless they are support or service dogs. Thank you.
Accessibility Information
Accessible parking for those who require it is available directly outside The Apple House. There is step-free access to the building and all areas. However, there are many potential trip hazards and uneven surfaces that may be encountered whilst visiting the gardens, along with gravel paths that aren’t suitable for walking frames with wheels.
The gardens are extensive so there’s a lot of ground to cover. Please be aware that due to the ongoing building works around the Orchard, there may be additional hazards to look out for.
